THE NEED FOR AN MoU BETWEEN FG AND STATE GOVERNORS BEFORE THE RELEASE OF ANOTHER BAIL OUT FUNDS
While commending President Muhammadu Buhari for his uncommon generosity and love towards the workers following his tentative approval for the release of outstanding London and Paris Club balance to the governors for the payment of workers salary for the forth coming Christmas celebration as requested by the Governors Forum, I am however averse to this kind of incessant dole out of our common patrimony to the governors when some of them are yet to account for the previous tranches given to them thereby leaving their workers to wallow in abject poverty and excruciating pain.
To avoid the anticipated fund from been recklessly squandered or fix in the bank to yield humongous interest at the detriment of the innocent and suffering workers, I call on the Federal government to EXECUTE A tripartite and watertight “MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING” (MoU) with them to ensure the workers in all the states get their salaries before Christmas including settlement of the arrears, for once bitten twice shy.
The ICPC, EFCC, NLC and the media and indeed all Nigerians should monitor the disbursement and utilization of the fund bumper to bumper
For God sake for how long will governors continue to wait for FAAC and bail out funds to meet up with their basic obligations? I challenge them to think outside the box in order to optimize their Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and to tap the abundant mineral resources domiciled in their states
GOD BLESS NIGERIA
